Gail Finley joined the Colorado Hospital Association (CHA) as Vice President of Policy Analysis and Strategic Planning in April of 2008. In July 2010, she transitioned to her current position as the Vice President of Rural Health and Hospitals. On behalf of CHA members, she is an advocate at both state and federal levels on the healthcare delivery challenges and opportunities in rural and frontier settings. She assists hospitals and the communities they serve understand and meet both federal and state requirements, providing leadership and membership representation in developing solutions in specific policy areas.
She currently is a member of the Colorado Advance Directive Collaborative, the Rural Hospital Issues Group for the federal Office of Rural Health Policy, and as a Board member for Victims Outreach, Inc.
Before joining CHA, Finley spent 10 years with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) leading state licensure and certification functions in the Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division. She was recruited back to Colorado to implement the Colorado Statewide Emergency and Trauma Care System, with the designation of hospitals as trauma centers.
Prior to her return to Colorado, Finley was with the Washington Department of Health as a manager in the Office of Emergency Medical Services and Trauma Systems for 10 years.
